Ukrainian retailers opened 430 grocery stores in 2012

According to a study by GT Partners Ukraine, in the previous year Ukrainian retailers opened 430 outlets, most of them  (300 stores) in seven largest networks of the country:

“ATB-Market” – 156 stores

Fozzy Group – 45 stores

“Nash Krai” (“Our Land”) – 33 stores

“Eco-market” – 20 stores

Varus – 14 stores

“Rukavichka” (“Mitten”) – 13 stores

“Retail Group” – 12 stores.

“The most dynamically developing types of retail are discounters and “convenience stores”. Less supermarkets are opening, because this segment is oversupplied,” – said Igor Gouglya, General Director of GT Partners Ukraine.

By the experts’ forecast for 2013,  the most attractive region for development will be Eastern Ukraine and Kiev.
